Suits (2018) / 슈츠

“If we don’t know what pain is, how would we understand the person next to us?”

-: Plot Synopsis :-

Suits (2018) revolves around the intertwined stories of South Korea’s top corporate lawyer Choi Kang Seok and a college dropout named Go Yeon Woo who has an incredible photographic memory. After the latter falls into a trap set by a vengeful enemy, flees authorities, and is mistaken for an applicant at the former’s law firm Kang and Ham, his life takes a turn as he is given an opportunity to set his life straight and put his talent to good use. Kang Seok hires Yeon Woo as his associate and is adamant about allowing the young man to learn the ropes of the industry, despite the fact that Yeon Woo lacks the qualifications required to be a lawyer and the significant risk it poses to both the lawyer’s and the firm’s reputations. As a result, they both keep Yeon Woo‘s identity hidden from everyone and insist that it not be revealed at any cost.

However, this proves to be easier said than done as they encounter a number of obstacles that attempt to obstruct their progress and make a number of enemies who are determined to bring them down along the way.

-: My Thoughts :-

Suits (2018) is a sophisticated yet enjoyable Kdrama. Although the drama focuses primarily on two male lead characters, the plot will not bore you! Suits is full of unusual cases that give you a taste of what it’s like to work in a law firm!

Park Hyung-Sik is, without a doubt, the best actor in this series. Not only because he is gorgeous, but also because he was able to contribute to the series brilliance. Also Jang Dong-gun and Hyun-Sik, playing the roles of senior and associate lawyers, are as badass as no one else. The chemistry between these two amazing actors is, in fact, amazing.

I think the most important factor why I got hooked is it doesn’t give away everything. It makes you think. It makes you wonder how they’re going to solve the case. At some point, it makes you question society.

Another thing I loved was that unlike many Korean series, which portray women as naive, stupid, and so on, this one featured a lot of empowered women.

The drama also instilled important moral values in us, such as accepting the consequences of our mistakes, being honest about who we truly are, and remembering that no matter how small or large the mistakes, there will always be consequences for them. Overall, the drama is highly recommended to watch, especially for those who enjoy legal dramas.
